Fees:
A sliding fee structure may be available to qualifying clients. I accept cash or checks as well as most major credit or debt cards - Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Cancellation Policy:A cancelled appointment delays our work. When you must cancel, please give me at least 48 hours notice. I am rarely able to fill a cancelled session unless I know at least 48 hours in advance. If you are unable to provide at least 48 hours notice when you cancel, you will be charged the full fee for your session unless we reschedule in the same week or make some other mutually agreed upon arrangement. Insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions. Actual emergencies are excluded from this policy.
Insurance:
I do not accept insurance directly and am not on insurance panels, however, my services are partially reimbursed by most companies as a "out-of-network" provider. Also, psychotherapy is typically covered by pre-tax Medical Savings accounts (MSAs).Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions: * Do I have mental health insurance benefits? * What is my deductible and has it been met? * How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover? * What is the coverage amount per therapy session for a non-network provider? I will work with you in any way I can to facilitate insurance payments you are entitled to. About Insurance: Due to insurance companies’ policies regarding diagnosis, privacy, and length of treatment, I have decided not to accept insurance. This policy helps me protect your privacy. Insurance companies require the clinician to assign a diagnosis, and they limit the number of allowable sessions. I have not always found this to be in the client's best interest. Some diagnoses may negatively impact a client's eligibility for future health insurance, as well as, school or work placements. If you choose to use insurance, it is your responsibility to inquire with your health insurance carrier directly to determine how much you may be reimbursed for visits with an “out of network provider” (which is what I am). At your request, I will give you a superbill (receipt) of our sessions at the end of each month which you may then submit to your insurance company. |
